Fish are a rewarding addition to water gardens, outdoor ponds, and other aquascapes and waterscapes. Fish add color and excitement, each one quickly becoming a treasured pet. Observing and feeding fish is a great way to relax. Selecting the right food and following good feeding habits ensures the health of your fish and their environment. A fish's digestive system slows down at cooler temperatures, and a wheat germ diet is easier for them to digest. The Pond Guy Spring & Fall Floating Fish Food contains an easy-to-digest formula for colder temperatures. Our Spring & Fall formula has a unique balance of high-quality natural vegetable proteins, amino acids, digestive enzymes, as well as vitamins and minerals. Start feeding pond fish Spring & Fall food when water temperatures are between 40–50°F, which will transition them into and out of winter torpor. When introducing a new food, slowly float only one or two pellets on the pond's surface until your fish show interest. Only feed fish what they can eat within five minutes, and skim out any leftovers that could decay into muck. Although formulated for fish, our fish food may interest your other pond wildlife, and rest assured that it will not harm any shrimp, turtle, catfish, or other aquatic creature who takes a bite. Not formulated specifically for game fish such as bass, trout, or bluegill. Not formulated for small fish or fry in aquariums. If water temperatures dip below 40 degrees Fahrenheit, koi, goldfish, and other pond fish enter a hibernation state. Do not feed fish during this time. Switch back to summer food when water temperatures remain above 50°F. The Pond Guy Staple food is perfect for summer and gives mature fish a diet full of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. The Pond Guy Staple Fish Food helps pond fish maintain size and energy without adding bulk, thus promoting healthy activity during the warmer season. See The Pond Guy for all your fish food needs as well as other pond supplies.
