Changing States: My Transatlantic and Other Journeys

From his beginnings amidst the austerity of post-World War II Britain, Gregory Mason recounts his physical and psychological journeys in a long teaching career. Changing Places revisits many of these journeys and intercultural encounters. After the rigors of a traditional British boarding school education, the author journeys to a new life in the United States. From there, he and his growing family travel together to live and work in diverse settings overseas. Over time, having become a dual citizen of Great Britain and the United States, he reflects on the gains and losses he has known in his own outer and inner life as he has aged, and as the world has changed from the twentieth to the twenty-first century.
